It’s no secret that we love our business card finishes. Just take a look at the video below wherein Alexander Knieps (Founder and CEO of Printulu) can’t contain his joy when mentioning our Soft Touch Lamination option.

Not even an MSc in International Management could prepare Alex for the brilliance that is Soft Touch Lamination.

I don’t blame him – it’s pretty great. But what exactly is Soft Touch Lamination? It sounds like someone softly caressed the business card and whispered sweet-nothings to it before it was shipped off (to anywhere in South Africa, of course).

And while Printulu does take the utmost care when printing and shipping your products, we’re not that weird. I promise.

Soft touch lamination also happens to be only one of seven different finishing options we offer. So before anyone can jump to dodgy conclusions about what any of them actually are, let’s get into it.

Refinement Options – for Finer Folk.

Who wants a straight-forward, normal business card? Blegh. Certainly not you. If you’re the type to know exactly what shoe size you wear at different stores; exactly how many inches your waist is for those perfectly tailored clothes… this is for you.

Boring simply will not cut it, and Printulu understands. That’s why we’ve got not only one, not two, but FOUR different Refinement Options.

Gloss Lamination or Matt Lamination

Lamination is the act of covering your business cards with a thin plastic film. This protects them against water damage, scuffs, and worn edges. This obviously comes in handy for business cards that are constantly being handled and shoved into purses.

Our Gloss and Matt Lamination is available for both single and double sided business cards, and both options are ideal if you want your business card to look like it belongs at the Oscars.

Think about it this way. The Matt Lamination option is that sleek little black dress in the back of a girl’s closet, whereas the Gloss Lamination is the shiny dress she pulls out on her birthday.

Both are equally useful, but for different purposes. Matt Lamination is sturdy, with a high-class feel, but without the shiny effect that Gloss Lamination has.

Soft Touch Lamination

Soft Touch Lamination, also known by its formal name Cellotouch, offers a protective finish with a matt effect and a soft, velvet-like texture. Just don’t be surprised if you find that potential business partner treating your business card like the love of their lives in a dark corner somewhere. Yes, it is that good.

Finishing Options – for People Who Know What They Want.

If you know exactly which finishing option is which, I’m impressed. You’re probably one of those people that can even confuse the barman with your complicated and precise cocktail order. Shaken, not stirred. Got it!

However, if you’re not one of those people, and you know just enough about printing to get by (like most people), this is for you.

Straight Cut

Straight to the point, with no frills. If this sounds like your business, this option is for you. This is a standard business card cut with straight edges.

2 Rounded Corners – Top Left, Bottom Right

Serious business, but knows how to party. If this sounds like you or your business, this may be the best option for you. This cut has only 2 corners rounded on opposite ends of the business card, giving it an edgy but restrained look.

2 Rounded Corners – Top Right, Bottom Left

Same same, but different. This cut is the exact same as the above, but in the reverse.

4 Rounded Corners

You’re pulling out all the stops, and you want to make sure your business card will not be missed. This cut is simple but elegant, with all four corners of the card neatly rounded.

If I Don’t See It, It Doesn’t Exist.

Now, we’ve already established that you’re a person of finer taste. Even if the above-mentioned options aren’t for you, you’re at least considering printing with Printulu. As far as I’m concerned, that means you know what you’re doing (wink wink).

So I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to assume that you would want to see and feel the paper you’re paying to use, before actually printing an entire batch of business cards, right?

We’ve got you covered. Introducing our fab Paper Booklet! This booklet is a sample booklet of the paper Printulu uses, so that you can see and feel exactly what you’ll be getting, before ordering. If you’re a reseller, don’t worry – I have personally designed an unbranded version just for you.

Click here for the branded version and here for the unbranded version. (PS – they’re both pretty cool.)

If ordering a sample booklet seems like too much hassle and you’d rather just get on with business and figure it out as you go along, that’s cool too. We’ve got awesome customer service agents who are just itching to help with any questions that you may have.
