Product Description

If your document is between 56 and 500 pages, this might be the perfect solution for you. PUR bound booklets look professional and are beautifully finished. The squared-off spine means they can be displayed, stored, or stacked easily and neatly. With PUR bound books we can print on the spine too, so you can always see the title when the books are stacked.

With PUR bookbinding, we stack all the printed pages in a block and square them off. Then the pages are glued together along the spine with extremely strong PUR adhesive. The remaining three edges are then trimmed so that the edges of the block are perfectly neat. The printed cover is then wrapped around and glued onto the spine as well.

PUR bound booklets are the perfect solution for our customers who regularly use perfect bound books for magazines, company or annual reports, catalogues, reference or educational books, and even self-published novels. PUR adhesive binding is a great value for money option for your publication. The key benefit is the ability to generate long-term repetitive use as the PUR binding creates a long-lasting spine and hard to pull-out pages.

Design Guidelines

Printulu recommends making sure that your booklets are triple-checked before submitting for print. Also, place considerable thought into your layout and design to bring your annual report, book, and brand to life. The basic content of booklets includes company name and logo, products and service illustrations, as well as descriptions. It’s also important to include contact details such as address, email, telephone number, and website.

For the best results, use professional design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator. Also, ensure that your closed artwork file respects all the items on the checklist for closing Your artwork. If you are not comfortable with the respective design software, we recommend you employ the services of a design professional. This is crucial, as a poor design can, in fact, harm your overall story and brand.

What is “bleed”?

Bleed is the area around your artwork that is trimmed off. This allows your design to look as if it was printed to the edge, even when the cutting alignment was slightly off. Your bleed should always extend to at least 3mm.

Product History

The history of booklets is as old as writing on paper. This started with tablets, scrolls, and sheets of papyrus. What immediately predates the bound multi-page books we know today were handbound, and sometimes handwritten, codices which could only be afforded by the ultra-wealthy.

Thanks to the invention of the printing press, introduced to us by Johannes Gutenberg, many have access today, to a plethora of books at reasonable costs. These advancements in mass production techniques also enabled the business to print booklets showcasing their goods and services.
