Design Guidelines

The invitation is usually the first point of contact in the experience of your event. Ensure that details such as the venue, time and date are clear and then focus on bringing the expected experience to life through the design of your invitation.

For the best results, use professional design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator. Also, make sure that your saved artwork file adheres to all of the items on the checklist for saving your artwork. If you are uncomfortable with the respective design software, we recommend using our professional design services. This is crucial, as a poor design can, in fact, harm your business and its reputation as a whole.

170gsm paper is the best choice for premium paper at an affordable price. This is suitable for invitations that will be given out to a large number of people as it provides a classy feel on strong paper at a reasonable cost.

250gsm paper gives invitations a strong and premium touch and are ideal for premium eventing collateral. 250gsm paper is great if you want persoanlised invitations that are more robust against unwanted folds and worn edges and represent the quality of your brand.

350gsm paper is our most premium paper that we currently offer. Due to its extra strong and solid touch, it has an impact of utmost quality and durability. In other words, if you want to leave a particularly professional impression, 350gsm paper is your best choice.

Lamination involves covering your invitations in a thin plastic film to protect them against water damage, scuffs, and worn edges. Choosing lamination adds elegance and quality to your invitations, while getting highly brilliant colour effects.

Do you provide mailing services?

No, unfortunately we do not. We will deliver the invitations to you, but where they go from there is up to you.

What is “bleed”?

Bleed is the area around your artwork that is trimmed off. This allows your design to look as if it was printed to the edge, even when the cutting alignment was slightly off. Your bleed should always extend to at least 3mm.

Product History

The history of the invitation appears to be synonymous with the history of the wedding invitation. Prior to this people were usually invited to special events, like a wedding, via word of mouth. This was usually done by a “town crier” (or announcer) which meant that anyone who heard was invited. Monks were eventually used to hand write some wedding invitations, but these services were only used by the wealthy. The invention of lithography and eventually the printing press enabled more people to print invitations en masse, thus making the practice of sending special, printed, invitations more popular.
